Jerri is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working in private practice in Las Vegas for over a decade. She has dedicated years of rigorous education and training to provide comprehensive and effective counseling, marriage & family therapy, and sex therapy services.
Jerri holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. (AASECT = American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists.) In addition to extensive and on-going training for Marriage and Family Therapy, Jerri has a strong decade plus background working in the field of human services.
She also holds a Master of Education. Â Jerri previously worked for the state of Nevada department of Child and Family Services working with families that have children with special needs, and the Clark County School District as a substitute teacher, elementary teacher, and middle school teacher.
While working as a teacher, Jerri began studying counseling. She later continued her education full-time to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Her interest in sexuality and intimacy and the influence they have on relationships became a greater emphasis. In addition to general Marriage and Family Therapy, Jerri chose to become more specialized in marital infidelity and couples’ intimacy. Throughout her educational and training experiences, these became specialties that she grew vastly interested in and comfortable treating. Couples therapy and romantic relationships have become her main focus and greatest area of expertise.
In recent years, Jerri has completed additional training to become a supervisor to therapists in training and interns. She is a Nevada board approved supervisor and also holds the designation of AAMFT Approved Supervisor. As supervision is an essential part of the developmental and licensure process for all therapists, Jerri chose to embrace this responsibility in order to help uphold the integrity of the profession.
Jerri has also been a yoga practitioner for over 15 years. She pursued further studies in yoga and has extensive yoga teacher training. Her yoga experience, both as a practitioner and teacher have become a nice complement to her therapy practice.
Spiritually, Jerri has a Christian background. However, she maintains spiritual and religious neutrality in therapy and certainly respects clients of all spiritual and religious backgrounds.
As an active member of AAMFT and AASECT, Jerri upholds the ethical standards of her profession at all times. Client’s confidentiality is strictly maintained.
